reclimb

Drop in a ride file and watch its climbs again in 3-D, with the power, heart rate, and gradient laid on the road. Your file is read in this browser and never uploaded.
Drop one or more .fit, .gpx, or .tcx files or click to choose. Two or more editions of the same race get put on one road together.
Threshold power sets every number that depends on it: W′ balance, the zone colors, and what counts as a surge. Use your FTP or critical power if you know it.

How it works

  1. Altitude is put on a fixed distance grid and smoothed over 100 m, so the same hill gets the same extent however fast it was ridden.
  2. A climb is a stretch where that grade stays above 2 percent, with dips shorter than 300 m folded in. It has to run at least 250 m and gain at least 66 ft.
  3. The start walks back to the foot of the rise and the end forward to the top. The climb keeps its gradual lower slopes; the point where the road first reaches 4 percent is marked as the steep pitch.
  4. W′ balance uses Skiba's differential model from your threshold power, starting full.
